The use of this website is subject to the following returns and refund policy.
Postage and handling costs
We use Australia Post eParcel for all of our shipping and we love to be up-front with our shipping costs. All of our shipping charges are based on a combination of total weight and state. Postage costs are calculated in your shopping cart prior to checkout and before finalising your payment.
All orders (excluding bulb-only orders) have detailed tracking information included and you will be sent an email after checkout to enable you to track your order. All orders require a signature on delivery. If you order has not arrived within 5 business days, please check with your local Australia Post outlet as soon as possible prior to contacting Original Salt Lamps. If you have any questions regarding shipping please contact us.
Original Salt Lamps offers insured shipping on all orders for a small fee of $3 per order. This is an item that must be added to your cart prior to checkout. We take all precautions to package our orders securely however all parcels damaged in transit will not be replaced if insurance has not been selected. Unfortunately we cannot be held responsible for all Australia Post handling, and as such, we strongly recommend insuring your order. If you have an order that has been damaged in transit and insurance has not been selected, then any shipping charges on replacements will be the responsibility of the customer.
Original Salt Lamps cannot be held responsible for deliveries to incorrect or incomplete addresses provided by customers. If the address is incorrect and the delivery is made, the customer assumes responsibility for the entire purchase. If the address is incorrect and the delivery is refused or unable to be completed, then the order will be returned to our distribution centre and a $10 return fee will be applied, in addition to a re-charge for re-delivery. To avoid these costs, we recommend that you double check your address details to ensure that all information provided is correct and in full.
Expected delivery times
We generally ship all of our orders daily, Monday-Friday, before 11am.
Our orders are sent from Northern NSW using Australia Post, so your location within Australia will determine the length of time before your delivery arrives. Our delivery time may vary from 1 day up to 10 days and in remote or flood affected areas it may be a little more. The majority of our orders arrive within 3 business days of posting. If a product becomes unavailable we will notify you of any delay. We do not ship orders on weekends. You will receive a shipping notification email from us on the day your order is shipped, unless your order is a light-bulb only order.
Light bulb only orders are sent via Australia's Post letter system, so please allow up to 5 business days extra for these orders.
If your product hasn’t arrived within 10 days please send our customer service team an email and we will track down the status of your order.
Changes to products listed
We may withdraw and/or re-offer any item listed for sale on the Original Salt Lamps Website if the item:
- becomes unavailable; is withdrawn by the manufacturer or supplier; or
- was incorrectly described or listed.
Money back guarantee and refund policy
Original Salt Lamps happily puts in the hard yards when it comes to selecting the products that appear on our site. We really do love each and every product on our site and we always hope that you will be completely satisfied and love them too.
However, if you are not satisfied with the quality of the products you have purchased, Original Salt Lamps has a money back guarantee on all purchases, within 30 days of receiving the order (excluding all postage and handling costs). Original Salt Lamps' money back guarantee is based on the buyer meeting the following conditions:
- you must notify us within 30 days of your order being delivered of your dissatisfaction and provide us with the order details
- goods returned to Original Salt Lamps must be in their original condition (i.e. unopened)
- when we receive notification of the refund request and the above conditions are met, Original Salt Lamps will contact you to arrange for the goods to be returned. Original Salt Lamps will only refund return postage costs if the item is in any way faulty. The limit of our liability for postage extends to the cost of the postage you paid to have the item delivered to you in the first instance
- Original Salt Lamps reserves the right to either refund the product price, provide you with a credit for future purchases or send a replacement product as we see best appropriate to the circumstances of the return.
- if Original Salt Lamps reasonably believes that a buyer is abusing our Money Back Guarantee, Original Salt Lamps reserves the right to suspend or cancel the Refund and Exchange Policy / Money Back Guarantee in relation to that buyer or cancel any pending orders.
Lost, missing or damaged items
Original Salt Lamps can only guarantee the condition of the goods until they leave our premises. Whilst we will take all reasonable steps to ensure fragile items are packed safely and securely, we cannot accept responsibility for lost or damaged parcels once they have left our premises. Risk of damage, loss or deterioration to product passes to the buyer upon delivery and therefore no refunds are offered for products that are damaged during or after delivery.
In the unfortunate event that you receive a delivery with damaged items, and you have not taken out insured post, you will need to contact your nearest Australia Post Office directly.
Original Salt Lamps will not be held liable for any further damages as a result of you receiving a damaged delivery without insured cover.
If you have not received an order that you have paid for, please contact us immediately so we can attempt to provide you with the relevant information required to track your delivery.
Original Salt Lamps does not accept responsiblity for any items that are lost or deemed missing by Australia Post after tracking lodgement and will not offer compensation for such orders. In this circumstance Original Salt Lamps will always arrange for Australia Post to investigate any missing parcels and exhaust all avenues available to track down the missing item. To ensure your order is covered during transit, please ensure you select the Insured Post option at checkout.
In the case of blown light bulbs Original Salt Lamps has a 14 day grace period from date of receipt of order after which blown or faulty light bulbs will not be replaced. We offer a 30 day warranty on all USB LED Salt Lamps and light globe fittings (power cables).
All orders that contain pre-order products will be shipped in one order, we do not ship products that are currently in stock seperately to pre-ordered products. If you require the products that are currently in stock at an earlier date than pre-oder purchases, please make sure to complete two separate transactions. We offer customer accounts to make finalising multiple purchases quick and easy.
